Even

An even number is a whole number that is divisible by 2.
Zero is also an even number.
The even numbers are 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, ...
Note: ... means et cetera in mathematics.

An even number always ends with digit 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8.

Odd

An odd number is a whole number that is not divisible by 2.
The odd numbers are 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, ...

An odd number always ends with digit 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9.

Negative numbers

Negative numbers are also even or odd.
So ..., –12, –10, –8, –6, –4 and –2 are even numbers.
And ..., –11, –9, –7, –5, –3 and –1 are odd numbers.

Decimal numbers

Even and odd only applies to whole numbers.
Decimal numbers are neither even, nor odd.
